Our Story
From a high school yearbook ambition and a pure love of beer, Warren Burgess and wife Beck have turned their back-shed hobby into an all-encompassing family brewery gig. Complemented by an already vibrant local wine industry in Langhorne Creek, long-time agronomist Warren creates traditional brews based on his understanding of the entire process, from grain to glass.
Embedded in their small country community, Warren and Beck can be found enjoying their Summer Session ale or Peninsula Pale with other beer-admiring folk from the local footy club, to a few quiet ones with family and friends.
Their weekends are filled with good beer, and great people. Now they want yours to be too as they create beers that everyone will enjoy – not just the craft-beer lovers.
History
The beer is named after Warren’s great-grandfather, ‘Little Pete’. He was partial to a pint – or two. Migrating to Australia after serving in the First World War, ‘Little Pete’ was the ultimate working-class survivor. Big in character, the only thing small about ‘Little Pete’ was his height – a true reflection of the quintessential Australian beer drinker.
Future Plans
Follow the Little Pete journey as beer is brewed from Langhorne Creek as early as 2023. Next, envision sampling brews among the crops and vineyards from Little Pete’s very own taphouse (coming soon). Stay tuned, anything is possible on the Fleurieu.
